Privacy Policy

Rad Rat Video (radratvideo.com) is run by me, Aron Lawrence, through my company, Rad Rat Design, Inc., in Colorado. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version: I collect as little as I can. I don’t sell or rent your information, and I don’t run ad trackers on this site.
What I collect and why
If you join the email list
When you sign up for the free trick checklist, Shred School 101 Chapter 1 or the newsletter, I collect your email address and your first name if you give it. I use them to send what you asked for and occasional emails about new videos, lessons, the book and merch.
The list runs on Kit, which stores your email for me. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave any time.
If you send an Ask Rad Rat question
The question form collects your name, your email (optional) and your question. I use your email only to reply or to follow up about your question. If I answer it in a video or blog post, I’ll use your first name or no name at all, never your email.
The form also has a box, unchecked unless you tick it, that says “Also send me new lessons and videos.” Only if you tick it and give your email, I add you to the email list on Kit, noted as signing up from the question form. If you don’t tick it, your email is never added to the list. You can unsubscribe from any email.
Questions are delivered to me by email through Resend. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, which checks that you’re a person without using tracking cookies.
If you shop for merch or the book
The merch store and the Shred School 101 PDF are run by Fourthwall. When you add something to your cart, the site saves a cart ID in your browser so your cart is still there when you come back. Checkout happens on Fourthwall’s secure checkout, and your name, address and payment details go to Fourthwall, not to this site. Fourthwall’s privacy policy covers that information. I see order details (like what you bought and where to ship it) so orders can be fulfilled.
The paperback book is sold on Amazon, and Amazon’s privacy policy applies there.
When you browse the site
- Analytics. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages people visit and where they come from. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you across sites and only gives me totals, not information about individual visitors.
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Your browser’s storage. Your Trick Library checklist (the tricks you mark as landed) and your cart ID are saved in your own browser. Your landed tricks never leave your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
YouTube videos
Videos on the site don’t load anything from YouTube until you press play. They use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you play a video, YouTube and Google’s privacy policy apply to that video.
Affiliate links
Some gear links go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you click one, Amazon may set cookies to track that the sale came from this site. It doesn’t cost you anything extra.
Other sites
Links to YouTube, Instagram, Patreon and other sites take you to places with their own privacy policies. I’m not responsible for how they handle your information.
What I don’t do
- I don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- I don’t use advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
- I don’t add you to the email list unless you sign up.
How long I keep it
Email subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Ask Rad Rat questions are kept as long as they’re useful for answering questions and making videos. Order records are kept as long as needed for taxes and accounting.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of any email.
- See, correct or delete the information I have about you by emailing me. I’ll take care of it, and of any copies held by the services listed above, as far as I’m able.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other privacy rights. Email me and I’ll help.
Kids
This site is for a general audience and isn’t directed at children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you’re a parent and think your child sent me their information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
