It’s better than Ride. It is. But that’s like saying having your left arm amputated is better than your right arm. You’re still going to have a miserable time. Art design is actually pretty good. Tony Hawk Ride had a really weird aesthetic where everything was blown out and blurry to make it look like […]
Yanya Caballista came out in 2001, from Koei, who made Steep Slope Sliders back in the 90s, which a lot of people love. This game was released to mixed reviews, like a 7.5 from EGM, and a 4 from IGN. But it has some really interesting concepts. First is the actual gameplay. You don’t just […]
A lot of people wanted this, but I never really ‘got’ Gino. I watched Yeah Right a lot when I started skating and thought his part was a skipper. But I found a new appreciation for him while working on this. So let’s get into it. Gino grew up in Long Island, in a neighborhood […]
Hey Rad Rat! I remember watching your “How Old Is Skateboarding?” video last year and feeling super fascinated that you found out that story from Paris in 1944. However, I recently found an article on Red Bull’s site talking about a skateboard in 1943. The article says that the skateboard was found in Joseph Goebbels’ […]
Did you know that cartoons are real? They’re actually shot on camera in a different realm called toon world, and they’re released here as if they’re animated? At least, that’s the concept behind 2003’s Gamecube exclusive Go Go Hypergrind. Get ready to suffer. So yeah, cartoons are all filmed by real cartoon actors in toon […]
I finally did it. This is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, a game that is a truly depressing and lifeless experience. We all knew it was going to be terrible, but how bad did it really turn out. I’ll show you. Thoroughly. When screenshots first landed for THPS5, it looked bad. Everyone was saying that […]
Skaters have been dreaming about skating with moon gravity for decades. And when we finally got a glimpse of what it might be like in the Tony Hawk games, that curiosity has only gotten stronger. But you can already ollie 6 feet high in those games. What would it really be like? How high could […]
From: Emanuele Ferrigno Greetings, My question… In your opinion will skateboard decks and skateboarding related items from 1995 to present day like shoes, wheels, trucks, ect. ever be highly collectible like the stuff from the late 70’s and 80’s? I know, specially skateboard decks, stuff from the 80’s and early 90’s are very collectable…Tony Hawk, […]
Today we’re taking a look at Simpsons Skateboarding, a PS2 exclusive from 2002. This came out about a month after Tony Hawk 4, which is pretty impressive actually. This has a very similar setup as that game, where you can free skate until you start a challenge, and that’s when the timer starts. So I […]
Recently, I talked about cleaning bearings, and why you should never use WD-40. After that episode came out, I reached out to Bones to ask if I could try out one of their cleaning kits. So what I’m going to do is clean my bearings according to their official guides, then review the kit and […]
