This game comes in two completely different versions, the last gen – xbox in my case, and the new gen, or ps3 for me. I’m going to cover these separately in this video, because they’re really different, and they feel nothing alike. Plus, a few people said that the older version is actually better, and […]
Go Skateboarding Day is 2 days away, and I thought it would be a great time to learn about the history of the event. I’m planning on actually going out and skating on go skateboarding day, so hopefully you’ll see something from me then too. I have an idea for it that I think is […]
Today we’re talking about Evolution Skateboarding for the PS2 and Gamecube. It came out in Fall of 2002, 2 weeks before Pro Skater 4. It was released to pretty terrible reviews. Most people thought it was cheap knockoff of the Tony Hawk series, but I don’t think that gives it enough credit. This doesn’t really […]
I’ve talked about Kareem Campbell a lot on this channel, but I haven’t really covered his skating directly. I’ve talked about the ghetto bird, and actually what it is. It’s NOT a hardflip late backside 180 – it’s more like a bigspin. You can see a video about that here. And I also made a […]
Today, we’re playing 720 on Game boy color. So the original arcade version of this game came out in 1986 and apparently Tony Hawk thought it was pretty sick. But I don’t have access to the arcade version. I also didn’t get the NES version. So I made the tragic mistake of getting this for […]
When you go back to something as simple as the shove it, it’s hard to think about it having an inventor. Like, who invented the kickturn? Who’s the first person to do a flatground manual on a skateboard? We just don’t know, and it doesn’t really matter because someone else would have invented it a […]
Back in 2014, Vice made a documentary about Tas Pappas called All This Mayhem, which is basically his life story. It’s really about how he and his brother get caught up in drugs and how his brother tragically died. So it’s not really ABOUT Tony Hawk, but he does come up a lot, and the […]
Today, we’re talking about some of the more obscure smith and feeble variations, including Barley grinds and Bennett grinds. But first, let’s all get on the same page because this stuff can get confusing quick. First – the front truck variations. A willy grind, or a smith on the front truck, is known as a […]
Today we’re going to find out what happened to one of our skate idols of the 90s – Josh Kasper. If you aren’t familiar with Josh Kasper, then you must have missed out on a lot of the best skating in the 90s. This guy was known for going huge, probably more so than anybody […]
